Desert Island welcomes golfers of all backgrounds to experience a unique private atmosphere. Our course is open to non-members for tee-times, offering traditional amenities and privileges in a setting that celebrates both the legacy of the game and the diverse new generation of golfers.
Vintage Legacy
Established in 1971, the 18-hole championship golf course on Desert Island was designed by the legendary Desmond Muirhead, one of golf’s most famous and iconoclastic architects, who spent his career challenging conventional course design.
Playable
The Desert Island course is panoramic from every angle, challenging but not outlandish, with gentle slopes, cooling breezes from the 25 acre lake, plenty of shade from the treelined fairways and short distances between greens and tees.
Walkable
Walking is healthy, social, and helps optimize course conditions. Desert Island offers the most pleasant walking golf in the Coachella Valley:
Leather & chrome, easy-roll, Walker Trolleys available. Generous ten-minute walking tee-time spacing.
Carts
We have a brand-new fleet of high-performance Club Car Tempo Lithium-Ion Golf Cars.
Refreshments
Play well, stay refreshed, and make every round memorable!
9 1/2 Bar & Kitchen
Situated next to the putting green between holes nine and ten, 9 1/2 Bar & Kitchen is the ideal watering-hole for hungry and thirsty golfers before they tee off, half way through their round, after they finish, or indeed at all three times. House-made grab ’n’ go bites, craft coffee, cocktails, beer and wine. Open to golfers and non-golfers, and anyone who appreciates casual lakeside imbibing.

Membership
Open to non-members, one would be forgiven for asking why apply for membership to Desert Island? For avid golfers, the answer is a hole in one.
